Overview

The seven-passenger 2010 Hyundai Veracruz is available in two trim levels, GLS and Limited. A distinctive blend of luxury, substance and style, the 2010 Hyundai Veracruz takes on the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander in the market, while offering the kind of lavish amenities and first-class craftsmanship found in the Lexus RX350 and Mercedes-Benz ML. The 2010 Hyundai Veracruz is mainly a carryover model from 2009 with a few changes. The GLS now comes standard with features that previously were options.

Power and performance

A standard 3.8-liter V6 that delivers 260 horsepower and 257 lb ft of torque is given to this model's current two trims. Both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options are offered for the engine, which is given a six-speed automatic transmission with manual control. While the optional four-wheel drive models give fuel consumption in the region of 15/22 mpg, the two-wheel drive gives 16/23 mpg.

Body and styling

The Veracruz demonstrates Hyundai's product expansion and global design evolution through its continued use of organic forms to create a refined and luxurious exterior. Fluid lines combine with integrated headlights and taillights to create a unified aesthetic for the vehicle. Passengers are coddled in a rich interior inspired by boutique hotels, and one that can be found in luxury sedans. All this thanks to intelligent ergonomic engineering, intuitive design and superior craftsmanship. Power driver seat, roof rack side rails, backup warning system, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, fog lights, automatic headlights and temperature controlled storage, which were all options on the GLS, are now standard. Due to cold-weather consumer demand, GLS models equipped with all-wheel drive also now include heated front seats as standard equipment. Also, the GLS is now available with LG navigation system and Infinity Logic 7 audio system (delayed availability). Six new colors - Black Noir Pearl, Blue Titanium Mist, Sahara Bronze, Driftwood Metallic, Ultra Silver and Carbon Steal Mist ? have also been introduced for 2010.
