Hyundai to pressure the competition with the Tucson and Equus

Monday, November 9, 2009

After the launch of Genesis sedan, which tasted success even at a time when most of the carmakers felt the pinch of recession, Hyundai gears up to fire two fresh, new models. This time Hyundai tests the waters in the luxury segment with two higher-quality vehicles - the Hyundai Equus and Hyundai Tucson.

With an expected price tag between $50,000 and $60,000, the Equus will undercut its competition by thousands of dollars and give its competitors a run for their money. Gettel Hyundai, the leading Hyundai dealership in Sarasota near Bradenton is keen to welcome the new Equus which is due to make its debut next summer or fall following 2010. The Hyundai Tucson is already on the way to make its mark in the compact crossover segment.

Equus, the new luxury four-door sedan from Hyundai will be bigger than the Genesis sedan and will directly take on Lexus LS, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and the like in the US auto market. Hyundai assures that the luxury sedan's ride and handling will definitely match the competitors with adaptive cruise control, and a new 5.0-liter direct injection version of the Tau V-8, which will drive the rear wheels through a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2011-model-year replacement for the Tucson will be the upgraded ix35 (the Tucson's European market name) which gives more focus on new design. Both the models are likely to get new names when they hit the US shores.

Visit Gettel Hyundai's online dealership to request more information about these two new models or to explore current models for the 2010 year. You can also schedule a service appointment, tour the new and used inventory and value your trade-in.
