Hyundai expands Sonata Line-up with Turbo and Hybrid options
Wednesday, April 21, 2010
The new and improved 2011 Hyundai Sonata mid-sized sedan was already a very attractive and reasonably priced option for customers looking for luxury family sedans. Hyundai has gone ahead with plans to make the vehicle even more attractive to other niche groups through the introduction of two additional drivetrains.
The first option will interest buyers looking for a high-performance sedan. Hyundai’s version is powered by a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder engine which is expected to produce around 250 horsepower following the installation of a turbocharger. The motor will increase the horsepower of the Sonata to a much higher level than its base engine but will still maintain good fuel mileage, estimated to be in the range of 35 miles per gallon.
The second option is for those buyers seeking to go green with an eco-friendly and fuel efficient hybrid vehicle. Hyundai Sonata buyers can opt for a hybrid that makes use of a four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries to help reduce the vehicle’s fuel consumption even further with very low emissions.
